By Dan Brown Do you know people in your life who do nothing but complain? These people are usually "past" dwellers, which means they're always giving their attention to things in their past.
The world is full of complainers and past dwellers. Probably because everyone has such a deep need to feel comfortable, and when they don't feel it, they let it be known. Are you like that? If so, you cannot change the past no matter what you do. You have to stop dwelling on it right now! There's an old saying, "complain and remain, praise and be raised!" If you want to move on with your life, then move on! Okay, I'm one for tough love. Here's what you need to do... 1. No more complaining by dwelling on the past! By dwelling on it, you paralyze yourself. You cannot get to second base with your foot still on first. You will also never steer straight while you're looking in the rear view mirror. Don't talk about your past anymore... ever! 2. Give thanks! Despite all your past miseries, there are some good things you can give thanks for. How about another chance? As long as you're still breathing, you still have opportunity. 3. Know who you are in Christ! You are joint heirs with Him, Who no one can stand against. Everything that is His, is yours! You just need to know how to access it. 4. Read self-improvement books written by Christian authors! Positive change in one's life comes about by changing his or her thinking, and this is done by the renewing of the mind. 5. Surround yourself with positive people! The Bible says, "As iron sharpens iron, so does one sharpen the wits of another" (Poverbs 27:17). A person tends to become a lot like those he or she spends most of their time with. Conclusion If you feel like the devil has robbed you of your life up to this point, when will you stop him? It's your responsibility, no one else's! You have been given the power to do so in Jesus' name. Jesus said in Luke 10:19, "All power and authority has been given to you in my name over all the power of the enemy, and nothing by any means shall harm you!" If you can be blessed, then be blessed! Call those things that that do not exist as though they did (Romans 4:17). Activate your faith and disarm the devil. Take back what is yours. I promise you, when you get it back, it will be multiplied (Isaiah 61:7 and Zech 9:12). But, you'll never get anything back unless you take some action. In fact, you'll continue to get robbed. Jesus' words are clear in John 10:10, "The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I came that you might have life, and have it more abundantly." Daniel N.
