The Historical books begin with Book of Joshua and ends with the Book of Esther. These books tell the story of the Jews or the Israelites and the way God dealt with them. The Poetic books were composed in poetic form in Hebrew language. These books contain teachings and doctrine about the duties of man. The Old Testament concludes with the books of the prophets. The life story of Jesus Christ has been told by 4 different apostles in their own ways and they form the New Testament. This religious book tells the way Jesus sacrificed his life for the benefit of mankind. The acts of the apostles composed by Luke narrate the events that took place after the resurrection of Christ. It also records the accounts of the formation of the first churches. As per the Bible, Christ himself had profound faith in the prophecy and messages of the Old Testament.
